We serve Utah's trees in the Wasatch Front, Wasatch Back, and Cottonwood Canyons—with electric-powered sustainability and human-powered care.

Arbor Concepts approaches tree care with profound attention to sustainability—in the tools we use, the techniques we embrace, the community we foster, and the ecosystems we care for. We cultivate balance while pushing our industry standard forward, using all-electric equipment and vehicles that leave a lighter carbon footprint and spare our neighborhoods the noise pollution typical in tree care.

While many tree services burn fossil fuels that harm nature, fill our yards and streets with noise, and focus on what needs to be cut down and ground up, instead, we focus on what we can build. We’re here to help trees thrive, demonstrate a thoughtful approach, educate tree owners and caretakers, nurture long term relationships with clients as well as trusted team members, and reshape the landscape of tree care itself.

  • Tree trimming is an important part of tree health and maintenance. Our pruning process has a purpose for the tree health, tree structure, and tree appearance of your trees, and we consider factors such as time of year, tree stress, and growth habits.

    • Structure pruning includes ornamental pruning, canopy or tree crown reductions, hazardous dead wood removal, repairing improper pruning, removing or retraining lion tailed branches, and removing improper cuts left susceptible to decay and disease.

    • Root pruning is necessary for new tree installations as well as ornamental trees kept long term in pots. It may also be necessary in old-growth trees with girdling roots, or before transplanting is requested.

    • All pruning is performed by, or under direct supervision of, an ISA Board Certified Arborist, according to ANSI A300 standards.

  • We can perform a comprehensive assessment of tree health, which may require soil assessment, plant tissue lab analysis, and/or insect species identification for an accurate diagnosis of tree disorders. It may also include a written report, monitoring, and a management plan, trunk injection or natural treatments depending on the trees’ needs.

  • Think planting is as simple as putting a tree in the ground? Not quite—although many landscapers treat the process that way.

Proper tree planting is crucial for the lifelong health of the tree and is necessary for longevity of the tree's structure.

We take all precautionary measures to ensure the initial planting is performed and the tree is sitting in well-curated soil with a properly irrigated environment.

Correct planting takes a small upfront investment that pays off with years enjoying healthy, happy trees.

  • Trees with back inclusion, sapping unions, and open or visible structural damage may require cabling or bracing to prevent failure. This can reduce potential risk to humans and structures. We can provide a tree risk hazard assessment to determine if cabling is a viable option.

  • We have a background in forest health and understand the proper protocols for forest fire prevention. Planned and maintained properties have a better chance for successful suppression in the event of a fire. We use selective clearing practices in undergrowth and tree canopy, along with controlled winter burning to create a healthy forest property.

  • We consider the potential risks to human safety and property when assessing if a tree must be removed. It may have died or become too much a hazard for its location, and we know the environmental impact of rebuilding structures can often outweigh the carbon a tree is able to sequester from the atmosphere. When a tree does need removing, we use industry-standard techniques, including crane use and final stump removal.

A history of happy clients:

  • "Arbor Concepts is a professional group of talented people that have been in this business for many years. Their work is always timely, spotlessly cleaned up when completed with safety of people and surroundings top of mind. Highly recommend this group."

    Paula Swaner Sargetakis

  • "We had a great experience with Arbor Concepts founder Tony and his team removing two Box Elder trees from our property. The trees’ bugs had gotten completely out of control, and we didn’t want to use pesticides on them because we have young kids and a dog. Tony and his team were able to remove the trees very quickly. They showed up on time and were super professional. I highly recommend them."

    Rebecca Babicz

  • “We were frustrated by tree services that either wanted to remove everything or proposed unnecessarily expensive maintenance plans. Arbor Concepts' approach was refreshingly different. Tony's team took the time to carefully inspect each tree individually, providing tailored recommendations rather than one-size-fits-all solutions. He even advised against an expensive brace that another company had recommended. His crew was not only knowledgeable but also took exceptional care of our property and left everything spotless after completion. The pricing was fair for the quality of work performed. Now, we wouldn’t consider using anyone else for future tree care needs.”

Our founding story.

Pro snowboarder Andonis Pavlantos was working as a wildland firefighter when he first developed his unique philosophy around caring for trees in a more conscious, sustainable way than the usual norms, which ironically give too little care for the environment. He began making his way in the arbor business, seeking to minimize negative impact while providing trees—and their owners—with a long-term plan for success.

Andonis loves nurturing relationships with clients, with team members, and with the community at large—always leaving things better than before. It’s why Arbor Concepts is more than a tree service; it’s a way of tending to our property, our neighborhoods, and the greater world.
